Can we survive with no First Amendment?

Do we really have a First Amendment today?

I don’t think so.

Far from it.

We have strayed a long way from the absolute guarantee of the Constitution of the United States to its people, its citizens, its progeny, its offspring collectively.

The First Amendment prohibits the government from making laws that regulate an establishment of religion, or that prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances.

It’s been rather strange working in the press without these protections. And although God has been faithful and kept WND alive for over a quarter of a century, our work is far from finished. Big Tech, Big Pharma and Big Government – headed by “the Big Guy” Joe Biden – are all still realities we must deal with on an ongoing basis. It’s a nightmare, to be candid, which brings us back to the First Amendment.

If we can’t speak and write the TRUTH, and can no longer operate freely according to the promises of our nation’s Constitution, then we don’t have a truly free press. And without a free press, we don’t have a free country – they ALWAYS go together.

Yet there has never been an era in American history when lies were more ubiquitous and destructive, and Truth more desperately needed, than right now.

God gave me an inspiration some time ago. It came when the night was darkest and the bills were the steepest.

I began working on the WND News Center, a non-profit 501(c)3 charity to work alongside WND.com. It was a necessity. Big Tech, Big Pharma and Big Joe would not let us continue to exercise our sacred constitutional liberties of free speech and free press any longer.

For Christians and conservatives in the press, it became virtually impossible to survive the flagrant censorship, cancellation, suppression, defamation and demonetization inflicted on truth-based media organizations like ours.

So, we switched from the traditional advertising-based business model that Big Tech destroyed (Google and Facebook together control approximately 90% of digital advertising) to asking our readers who appreciate what we do to support us directly.

It began to work. And we are grateful.

Nevertheless, the truth is, now more than ever, your financial support is absolutely necessary for the vital task of shining a bright and honest journalistic light on today’s super-turbulent world, including the lawless political and cultural forces that daily threaten Americans’ happiness, well-being, security and freedom.

Journalistic truth is an increasingly rare commodity, and the WND News Center is dedicated to making sense out of the chaotic and dangerous era we are living through.

Fortunately, since the IRS approved the non-profit 501(c)3 status of the WND News Center, your contributions to support this kind of journalism are tax-deductible.

Today’s systematic suppression of conservative, Christian, pro-life, pro-capitalism and pro-American expression by progressive Big Tech monopolies like Google, Facebook and others has become increasingly brazen. They literally are attempting to completely extinguish free speech and independent journalism in America.

Very simply, my friends, times have changed: If you value independent, fearless, truthful news and analysis in an age of radically increasing lies and deception, your partnership with us is essential.

Our current needs? We need to raise $65,000 by the end of August in order to pay our bills, including payroll. We’re part way there, but have a long way to go.

If you’re able to help, please make a tax-deductible donation to the nonprofit WND News Center. This can be either a one-time donation or a monthly recurring donation.

Prefer to mail your donation? You can make your tax-deductible check out to “WND News Center” and mail it to: WND News Center, P.O. Box 100, 580 E Street, Hawthorne, NV 89415-0100.
