COVID crackdowns: Can over 400 studies be wrong?

A tremendous body of evidence concerning the effectiveness of compulsory COVID interventions – including lockdowns, shelter-in-place policies, mask mandates, school closures, etc., seeking to curb transmission or reduce the number of deaths from the virus – all accumulated from over 400 studies, has reached a startling and seemingly irrefutable conclusion.

The bottom-line assessment of these studies is that the restrictive policies cited above have been ineffective and, more accurately, not only failures but abject failures. Rather than positively impacting on society to contain the virus, these measures have had a negative impact both due to their failed effectiveness and their causing immense harm, especially upon the poorer and more vulnerable members of society.

Like the numerous foreign policy and domestic decisions made by President Joe Biden since taking office that have been proven to be wrong, these studies suggest Biden’s director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has served as a prominent leader during the COVID pandemic, has taken a similar route in regards to the virus by repeatedly making wrong decisions as the country seeks out the shortest road to recovery from it.

Fauci had the gall during an interview last June when asked about the dangers of discrediting public health officials and causing people to lose confidence in the vaccine program to say the following:

“A lot of what you’re seeing as attacks on me are, quite frankly, are attacks on science because all of the things I have spoken about from the very beginning consistently have been fundamentally based on science. If you are trying to get at me as a public health official and scientist, you’re really attacking not only Dr. Anthony Fauci, you are attacking science. And anybody that looks at what is going on clearly sees that. You have to be asleep not to see that.”

Laura Ingraham of Fox News was in disbelief, declaring, “The man does think he’s some kind of deity. His argument is essentially … ‘I am the science! I am the truth!'” Others immediately slammed Fauci for his “dangerously arrogant” comment. Tucker Carlson dubbed him “King Tony Fauci” for his self-aggrandizing comments, adding, “Normal people don’t talk that way. It’s not Fauci who just believes he is immune. You are not allowed to say anything negative about him or the culture revolution.” Also contributing to the Fauci smackdown was Sean Hannity who accused the director of “trying to claim any criticism of him is a criticism of science.”

Long forgotten is Fauci’s earliest advice to President Donald Trump after the pandemic came to light in which he claimed that millions of Americans would die. He later revised this as he discovered he had relied upon one of many models that were “astronomically wrong” in their predictions. That would prove to be just the first of over a dozen-plus more incorrect predictions he would make to effectively come up with the best “treatment of the day.”

The learning curve for COVID-19 has been never-ending, making accurate predictions and treatment regimes difficult. But it needs to be recognized that having a knee-jerk reaction to implementing plans to contain the virus is not always in the public’s best interests. A good example of this is the state of Florida, which has refused to impose Biden/Fauci mandates upon its residents. Ignoring such mandates, Florida seems to maintain the lowest number of daily coronavirus-related deaths per capita as the numbers in other states complying with Biden/Fauci restrictions experience spikes.

Plus, there is another factor that must be considered in issuing mandates. As noted by the American Psychological Association, it is the potential impact on the public’s mental health and well-being due to “the enormity of living in isolation, changes in daily lives, job loss, financial hardship, and grief over the death of loved ones.” Studies are also showing for parents, particularly single parents, there is a great deal of added stress caused by the increased need of caring for children at home.

However, the negative impact is, perhaps, harshest on children and adolescents. How severe that impact is turns on numerous vulnerability factors such as “developmental age, educational status, preexisting mental health condition, being economically underprivileged,” etc. Teen suicide attempts have surged during the lockdowns.

Yet, before we can even get a handle on COVID-19, we find ourselves having to better understand its mutations into the delta, which is now its dominant strain, and omicron variants. While the latter is quickly spreading, fortunately there has been just one recorded death, in the U.K. And, as if we did not already have enough to worry about, Russian scientists are warning that, with climate change’s thawing of the permafrost there, concerns have arisen over frozen viruses from the last Ice Age being released into the atmosphere.

Exodus 9:1 of the Bible tells us that the Lord, displeased with the enslavement of the Hebrews in Egypt, said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go. …'” Similarly, Biden and Fauci must do like the Pharaoh did, letting our people go, releasing them from the restraints the coronavirus yolk imposes upon them, to exercise their individual choice on whether to mask or not, to lockdown or not, to take vaccines or not.

Contrary to his boast, Dr. Fauci does not represent “the science.” Over 400 independent studies suggest otherwise. The science has been all over the board, with those ignoring its restrictions seemingly faring much better than those blindly accepting it.
