A new poll from Rasmussen Reports reveals that nearly two of three likely U.S. voters believes the Hunter Biden laptop scandal is a big deal.
Many voters, Rasmussen’s analysis found, “think it could have changed the 2020 election.”
The polling, done online and by telephone, found “63% of Likely U.S. voters believe the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop containing emails about his business dealings is important, including 44% who think the story is Very Important. Thirty-four percent (34%) don’t believe the story is important, including 17% who say it’s Not At All important.”
The polling organization explained, “Mark Zuckerberg recently said a warning from the FBI about ‘Russian propaganda’ caused Facebook to censor the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop in the weeks before the 2020 election. Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters say if the media had fully reported the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election, it’s unlikely Joe Biden would have been elected president. Forty-six percent (46%) don’t think it’s likely the story would have changed the election results.”
The polling contacted 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters August 31-September 1, and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
“Sixty-two percent (62%) believe it’s likely that Joe Biden was consulted about and perhaps profited from his son Hunter’s overseas business deals including at least one involving a company in mainland China, including 47% who think it’s Very Likely. Thirty-three percent (33%) don’t think it’s likely Biden was consulted about his son’s deals,” Rasmussen said.
“Sixty-seven percent (67%) of voters have closely followed news reports about Hunter Biden, including 38% who have followed the news Very Closely. Among those who have Very Closely followed news about Hunter Biden, 77% believe the story about Hunter’s laptop is Very Important and 76% think it’s Very Likely that Joe Biden was consulted about and perhaps profited from Hunter’s foreign business deals.”
The polling report explained 66% of Republicans said it was unlikely Joe Biden would have been elected if the media had reported fully on the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal. Half of independent voters and even 27% of Democrats agreed.
Huge numbers of whites and other minorities, and even 48% of blacks believe Joe Biden was in consultation and perhaps profited from Hunter’s operations, and 49% of whites, 39% of blacks and 46% of other minorities say it’s unlikely Biden would have been elected had the truth been carried by the media.
The polling also noted, “The 2022 midterm elections are now less than 10 weeks away, and Republicans still have a five-point lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress. Worries about the American economy have eased somewhat in recent months, but the issue remains a top concern for most voters.”
The Daily Mail commented, “The poll comes as Republican lawmakers reveal a string of FBI and DOJ whistleblowers who are coming forward alleging bias within the bureau and efforts from higher ups to conceal or discredit negative information about Hunter and his laptop.”
Further, Republicans have blasted the double standard used by the FBI and DOJ – giving the Biden family a pass on allegations of misbehavior yet launching a full-scale FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s home over a dispute regarding custody of documents that Trump had with him after his first term concluded.
Critics of the leftist federal agencies that earlier worked with Democrats to fabricate a “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory against Trump that has since been debunked wonder why Hunter Biden’s home hasn’t been searched for more materials after the laptop was authenticated.
The Daily Mail summarized: “On the laptop were emails where Hunter was discussing business deals with Ukraine and China, and referenced a cut for the ‘Big Guy’, which multiple sources claim was referring to President Biden. Continued skepticism over the importance of Biden’s laptop comes as whistleblowers from the FBI and Justice Department are stepping forward to allege a stream of bias within the bureau and agency.”
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has confirmed “highly credible” whistleblowers have charged there are efforts inside the FBI to downplay or discredit negative information about Hunter and the laptop story.
