That the FBI in recent years has abandoned its goal of being a neutral law enforcement organization seems apparent already.
It colluded with Democrats to pursue the now-debunked “Russiagate” collusion conspiracy theory against President Trump. It now has been accused by former Rep. Devin Nunes of running a “bounty” program to undermine Trump.
It just recently staged a platoon of armed FBI agents to raid Trump’s home in search of documents from his own presidency.
It’s also been launching those same raids on pro-life activists while ignored some 150 pro-abortion attacks on churches and pro-life centers.
Now government watchdog Judicial Watch has announced lawsuit to obtain public information regarding its efforts to hinder investigations of Hunter Biden.
His scandals, while mostly being suppressed by legacy media, have run into a pages-long list already.
He was working for an allegedly corrupt Ukrainian company, getting tens of thousands of dollars a month, when his father, then vice president, ordered that a prosecutor who was investigating to be fired.
Hunter Biden took dozens of trips to arrange foreign business deals in what now appears to be an influence-for-sale scheme. His father repeatedly met with those business associates and in fact, was identified as the “big guy” in line for a profit from one of Hunter Biden’s deals with Chinese interests.
Setting aside the scandalous sex antics that have been documented from Hunter Biden’s laptop, which he abandoned at a repair shop, that source also has revealed that there are legitimate concerns that there could be compromising material in the hands of America’s enemies from it – or another like it.
Judicial Watch said its lawsuit concerns the issue that a briefing the FBI’s Brian Auten gave to Sens. Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley was “intended to undermine the senators’ investigation of Hunter Biden.”
It seeks a wide range of information from the government about that briefing.
The senators already had been looking at Hunter Biden’s career. And in July Grassley told Attorney General Merrick Garland that he’d heard from “a significant number” of whistleblowers after opening the door for those who wanted to report “fraud, waste, abuse and gross mismanagement” by the FBI and DOJ.
“The information provided to my office involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information relating to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation. The volume and consistency of these allegations substantiate their credibility and necessitate this letter,” the senator explained.
He told Garland, “It’s been alleged that the FBI developed information in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s criminal financial and related activity. It is further alleged that in August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by a[n] FBI Headquarters (‘FBI HQ’) team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease. Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.”
The letter told Garland it appears “there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.”
Just a day later, Johnson told Garland and others addressing that briefing, which he suggested was “a set up to intentionally discredit our ongoing work into Hunter Biden’s extensive foreign financial entanglements. Indeed, months after that briefing—which was not specific and unconnected to our investigation—it was leaked to the Washington Post who reported on it and tied it to ‘an extensive effort by the [FBI] to alert members of Congress . . . that they faced a risk of being used to further Russia’s attempt to influence the election’s outcome[.]'”
Judicial Watch noted, “Auten is reportedly under investigation for his role in the FBI Crossfire Hurricane investigation targeting Trump and just testified in the Durham Special Counsel trial of Igor Danchenko, who was paid by both the Clinton campaign and the FBI to dig up dirt on President Trump.”
“It is no coincidence the FBI operatives implicated in improperly protecting Hunter and Joe Biden were also abusing President Trump,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The Justice Department and the FBI have been irredeemably compromised and their refusal to follow federal transparency law further confirms their corruption.”
It is known that the FBI lobbied social media in 2020, just days before the presidential election, to suppress what it claimed was Russian “disinformation.” At the time, the New York Post was reporting accurately on the information from Hunter Biden’s laptop, that was very damaging to the Biden family.
A poll later showed that a majority of Americans believe the suppression of the truth about the Bidens switched the winner of that vote from President Trump to Joe Biden.
Through freedom of information fights, Judicial Watch said, it already has details about Hunter Biden’s pay from Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings, it has asked about a situation in which Hunter Biden “reportedly disposed of in a gun in a dumpster in Delaware,” and more.
It cited records that tie Hunter Biden “to an influence-peddling operation involving the Clinton campaign during the 2016 election,” and how “for the first five and a half years of the Obama administration, Hunter Biden traveled extensively while receiving a Secret Service protective detail. During the time period of the records provided, Hunter Biden took 411 separate domestic and international flights, including to 29 different foreign countries. He visited China five times.”
