Constitutional expert questions how Joe Biden will make 'a full-sized scandal' disappear

It’s been just about a year since the New York Post broke open the story of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop and revealed a small part of the devastating images and details it contained: how Joe Biden was lined up to be paid in one of Hunter Biden’s business deals, the influence-peddling, the prostitutes, and more.

And constitutional expert Jonathan Turley now is wondering how Joe Biden will make “a full-sized scandal” disappear.

When the Post published its reports in the days before the 2020 presidential election on the contents of the laptop, which Hunter Biden abandoned at a repair shop, social media, legacy media and even a long list of prominent government officials all claimed it was Russian propaganda or something similar and should be ignored.

It has since proven to be the opposite, and it was a poll by the Media Research Center, only weeks after the election, that found one in six Biden voters in seven swing states said they would not have voted for the Democrat if they had been aware of one or more of the news stories presented to them.

The poll, conducted by The Polling Company for the MRC, asked voters about eight news stories that “the liberal news media had failed to cover properly.”

MRC concluded a “shift of this magnitude would have changed the outcome in all six of the swing states won by Joe Biden.”

The conclusion was that had the media reported accurately and fairly on the Biden scandals, President Trump would easily have been elected to a second term.

Now constitutional scholar and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley has posed a question about how Joe Biden will make the still-looming and “full-sized scandal” disappear.

“This week marked the anniversary of one of the greatest political tricks in history: the disappearance of Hunter Biden scandal. New emails were released that added new details to what was a raw influence peddling operation that netted millions from foreign sources. A new tranche of emails connecting President Joe Biden to key accounts prove just how this political sleight of hand was worthy of Houdini. After all, Houdini only made an elephant disappear. The Bidens made the equivalent to an entire circus disappear in front of an audience of millions,” he wrote.

He recalled the trick from escape artist Houdini, who made a 10,000-pound elephant “disappear” during his shows in New York’s Hippodrome.

“The fact is that Jennie never left the large cabinet, people just didn’t see it,” he explained, and he said that’s just what the Bidens have done.

“They made a full-sized scandal disappear with the help of media and members who did not want the public to see it. Twitter banned postings about the laptop until after Biden was elected. The media dismissed the story as a conspiracy theory with some mocking the ‘New York Post and everyone else who got suckered into the ridiculous Hunter Biden Laptop story. Take a bow.'”

He noted it was Rep. Adam Schiff who claimed “this whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin,” and his sentiments were joined by dozens of former intel officers, including Barack Obama’s CIA chief, John Brennan, who insisted it was Russian disinformation.

“The laptop is, of course, now recognized as genuine even by some of the early deniers. Hunter remains under criminal investigation for possible tax and money laundering violations. But the greatest ‘reveal’ is the person referred to as ‘the Big Guy’ and ‘Celtic’ in these emails: President Biden,” Turley explained.

“Recently released emails reference payments to President Biden from son’s accounts and indicate the possible commingling of funds. Even more embarrassing, the shared account may have been used to pay a Russian prostitute named ‘Yanna.’ In one text, a former secret service agent warns Hunter (who was holed up with a prostitute in an expensive hotel) ‘Come on H this is linked to Celtic’s account.'”

He suggested that prosecutors already should be considering the following facts.

“First, it is widely believed that Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden, received millions in influence peddling. For his part, Hunter only had influence and access to sell. He admits that he was a crack addict and alcoholic all the way up to the start of his father’s presidential campaign — in his words, ‘Drinking a quart of vodka a day by yourself in a room is absolutely, completely debilitating,’ as well as ‘smoking crack around the clock,'” Turley wrote.

Second, he said, while Joe Biden repeatedly has denied knowledge of or involvement in the scandals, “those denials are now directly contradicted by emails and witnesses. Hunter himself contradicted his father’s repeated denials. Likewise, a key business associate of Hunter Biden, Anthony Bobulinski, directly accused Joe Biden of lying about his involvement.”

Next, it’s documented that Joe Biden, as Obama’s vice president, took Hunter on trips on Air Force Two to China and other countries where he was soliciting his business deals.

Then there are emails suggesting that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden shared bank accounts.

“Finally, Hunter himself admitted that his missing computers files may have been stolen by foreign agents for blackmail purposes. Hunter’s emails claim one of his laptops may have been stolen by Russian agents after a drug and alcohol binge with prostitutes,” Turley said.

The result, he suggest, should be the appointment of a special counsel to investigate.

“The president is mentioned repeatedly in emails and by witnesses in relation to influence peddling schemes and even receiving funds from shared accounts. He has also denied knowledge that key witnesses refute, including his son,” he said.

He said, “President Biden is [on] full display in these emails. The question is whether the public – or the prosecutors – want to see him.”

After the obvious impact on the election from the suppression of the reports, it took months before the bombshell reporting from the New York Post was confirmed by an establishment media reporter who released a book.

It was just recently that Politico reported a book released by one its national political correspondents, Ben Schreckinger, presents “evidence that some of the purported HUNTER BIDEN laptop material is genuine, including two emails at the center of last October’s controversy.”

The book, “The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power,” cites a person who had independent access to Hunter Biden’s emails who confirmed the authenticity of a 2015 email from an adviser for the corrupt Ukrainian firm Burisma thanking him for introducing him to Joe Biden.

That destroys the president’s repeated claims he knew nothing about his son’s deals.

But more importantly, the Politico reporter’s source confirmed the authenticity of a 2017 email regarding the deal with CEFC Chinese Energy stating 10% of the profits were to be held “for the big guy.” The “big guy” was identified as Joe Biden last October by former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski after the New York Post reported the emails were discovered on a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden.

Bobulinski said Joe Biden was an active participant in his son’s overseas business dealings while serving as vice president. In fact, Bobulinksi said he met twice with Joe Biden to discuss the deal with CEFC Chinese Energy, giving the impression that the then-vice president had the final say in the business dealings of his son and brother James Biden.

Hunter Biden has confirmed he now is under investigation by the FBI, apparently for his business dealings.
