Female mass-shooter at Nashville Christian school reportedly identified as 'he/him'

Audrey Hale, the 28-year-old biological female who allegedly shot three children and three adults to death Monday at a Nashville Christian elementary school where she was was once a student, reportedly identified as “he/him” on social media, according to online citizen journalists.

Nashville police later revealed that Hale, who was gunned down by police, identified as “transgender.”

The Covenant School where the murders occurred describes itself on Twitter as “a Christian elementary school for Preschool-6th: Shepherding Hearts, Empowering Minds, Celebrating Childhood.”

Late afternoon, after hours of police delays in reporting the alleged perpetrator, Fox News reported, “The shooter was identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a Nashville resident, who identified as transgender. Investigators were investigating a home connected to her. Nashville police Chief John Drake said Hale possibly prepared for the shooting.” Hale was shot dead by police.

Fox reported that Drake said Hale had written a manifesto and possibly prepared for the shooting. Just the News reported that Nashville police are “investigating whether Hale’s transgender identity played into the shooting plot.”

“We have also determined that there were maps drawn of the school in detail of surveillance entry points. At one point she was a student at that school,” he said. “There was a vehicle nearby that gave us a clue as to who she was.”

At 1:53 p.m., the Metro Nashville Police Department reported via Twitter: “UPDATE: 3 students & 3 adult staff members from Covenant School were fatally shot by the active shooter, who has now been identified as a 28-year-old Nashville woman.”

Three hours later, at 4:53 p.m., MNPD reported: “The 6 victims fatally shot by the active shooter at Covenant School are identified as: Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all age 9, Cynthia Peak, age 61, Katherine Koonce, age 60, and Mike Hill, age 61.”

Yet the MNPD still had not reported the alleged killer’s name, raising eyebrows among conservatives who have long chronicled the penchant of left-biased “mainstream” media to play down politically-incorrect murderers while voraciously covering cases that advance “woke” narratives.

D.C. attorney Rogan O’Handley, @DC_Draino on Twitter, reported at 4:06 p.m. that: “*Unconfirmed* reports identify the Nashville shooter as “Audrey Hale”, a biological female that identifies as “He/Him” on their LinkedIn [account].

“Authorities believe the transgender shooter previously attended the Christian school,” O’Handley reported. “Instagram account “creative.aiden” has been deleted.”

Yet more than an hour after that information had been made public, and viewed by 2.3 million people on O’Handley’s Twitter page, the Tennessean newspaper and other “mainstream” media still had not reported the alleged perpetrator’s name.

By late afternoon, more details had emerged about Hale, who described herself on LinkedIn as an “Illustrator and graphic designer.” Andy Ngo, who monitors extremist and violent left-wing groups, especially Antifa, reported via his Twitter account: “BREAKING: The deceased mass shooter of the Christian school in #Nashville has been identified as #trans person Audrey E. Hale. Three children & three staff were murdered. The shooting comes amid a surge in far-left death threats in Tennessee over the state banning the medical transitioning of minors. Hale’s art page featured LGBTQ+-themed work.”

Ngo’s tweet included a link to a preserved archive of Hale’s favorite causes and work, with two examples from it: a “rainbow flag” made of M&M’s with the words, “Born this way,” and what apparently is a masculinized self-portrait by Hale.

Hinting at Drake’s motivations, Drake told Lester Holt of NBC News, “There’s some belief that there was some resentment for having to go to that school.”

Ngo also reported the trend of radical “trans” activist violence, including the November 2022 mass-murder at a Colorado gay nightclub by self-described “non-binary” Anderson Aldrich: “Flashback: In November 2022, a #trans nonbinary suspect named Anderson Aldrich allegedly carried out the deadly mass shooting at gay nightclub, Club Q. The shooting was quickly blamed on the right by left-wing activists, Democrats & Antifa. When it emerged Mx. Aldrich is trans nonbinary, they said they didn’t believe it.”

Slow release of facts

By evening, The Tennessean, reliant on police briefings, finally reported, “Police later identified the shooter by his name at birth, Audrey Hale, and did not provide another name. He was a transgender man who used male pronouns.”

As of late afternoon Monday, the Tennessean’s reporting was still missing facts widely seen on social media: “Three adults and three children are confirmed dead following a mass shooting Monday morning at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville. The female suspect was killed in an altercation with police.”

Don Aaron, a spokesperson for the Metro Nashville Police Department, “said a white female suspect, 28, of Nashville, was believed to have entered a side entrance with two assault rifles and a handgun,” reporter the Tennessean.

“I was literally moved to tears to see this as the kids were being ushered out of the building,” the paper quoted MNPD chief John Drake.

After news of the mass-shooting broke, Twitter-based investigators quickly questioned why police were not releasing the alleged shooter’s name even though some news accounts reported her as a “former student.”

As of late afternoon Monday, even Fox News, like the Tennessean and other media, still had not reported the name nor the “gender identity” of the alleged shooter.

“Metro Nashville Police Department officers killed the shooter, a 28-year-old Nashville woman and former student whose name has not been released,” Fox reported earlier in the afternoon.

“At one point she was a student at that school,” Nashville police Chief John Drake said. “There was a vehicle nearby that gave us a clue as to who she was.”

Meanwhile, President Biden and many Democrats immediately seized on the tragedy to promote gun-control legislation.

“We have to do more to stop gun violence,” Biden said at a White House press conference. “The shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol…So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It’s about time that we begin to make some more progress.”

After breaking the story about Drake’s opposite-sex, “transgender” “preferred pronouns” (“He/Him”), O’Handley tweeted out a video screenshot of her LinkedIn page with the words: “To those claiming the ‘he/him’ pronouns were photoshopped into Audrey Hale’s LinkedIn, here is a screen recording disproving that.”

Conservatives warn of liberal media blackout

Reaction was quick Monday among conservatives on social media who warned that the media would downplay or ignore the heinous crime’s “trans” and anti-Christian angles — based on the press’s non-reporting of similar evils that went under-reported due to their politically inconvenient facts.

“Is it fair to call the #NashvilleCovenantSchool mass shooting a hate crime perpetrated by a transgender domestic terrorist against Christians? If not, why not?” asked conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza.

Quoting the New York Times’ coverage of the mass-murder, conservative activist and broadcaster Charlie Kirk tweeted:

“NYT: “A heavily armed WOMAN entered a Christian school in Nashville on Monday morning & fatally shot three 9-year-old children and three staff members before SHE was shot and killed by the police”

Suddenly, there’s no interest from MSM in honoring someone’s “preferred pronouns.”

Trans-activist revenge?

Ngo, with his expertise on the violent left (including being assaulted himself in a leftist assault that could have killed him), used his popular Twitter account (1.1 million followers) to highlight the growing problem of deadly transgender violence and a movement bent on revenge for the recent spate of state laws like Tennessee’s attempting to slow down and stop the “trans” agenda.

He tweeted another murderous trans “flashback”: “In May 2019, a female-to-male identifying #trans shooter named Alec McKinney & accomplice Devon Erickson carried out a deadly mass shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch in Douglas County, Colo. McKinney told investigators transphobic students were targeted.”

In another post, Ngo tweeted: “In recent months, rhetoric about carrying out “revenge” & “vengeance” on society for some states restricting the medical transitioning of minors has surged. Through my reporting on #Antifa, I’ve long observed that disproportionate numbers of violent Antifa members are #trans. Still, their rhetoric has become more openly violent recently as they feel emboldened by Democrats & the mainstream left.”

The conservative journalist also tweeted that, “Some left-wing people on Twitter are sympathetic to the #trans shooter who killed children and staff at the Christian school in Nashville.” The tweet contained screenshots of two other tweets: The first, by Kat Amarco (@teasingkat), said: “I don’t condone Audrey Hale’s actions, though I understand their outrage against an intolerant state that brainwashes children through religious indoctrination. The reality is his human still identified as that child attending that school and carried that pain into adulthood.”

The second, by @RedsbeardsBunker, said: “I still think TN [Tennessee] got what it deserved today. You can’t victimize people nonstop and expect something bad not to happen.”

Media: blame the right?

Liberal corporate media, which have been heavily biased towards LGBT advocacy for the last several decades, began setting the stage yesterday for assigning some blame for the murderous shooting at Covenant School to conservative opponents of the “trans” agenda, especially those in Tennessee.

Curtis Houck, managing editor at NewsBusters, a publication of the conservative media watchdog group Media Research Center, published on Twitter a “deleted tweet” from New York Times and NBC contributor Benjamin Ryan, “invoking the @realDailyWire [based in Nashville] as a ‘hub of anti-trans activity’ and fellow Nashville resident of the trans shooter.”

The deleted tweet by the openly homosexual Ryan read: “NBC has ID’d the Nashville school shooter as Audrey Hale, 28, who identifies as transgender and had no previous criminal record. Nashville is home to the Daily Wire a hub of anti-trans activity by [Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles].”

Houck retweeted a tweet by @AGHamilton29 that said: “If I understand this correctly: If a shooter has right-wing views, then the right’s rhetoric is responsible. if the shooter has left-wing views, then the right’s policies are responsible. Very convenient.”
