Two felonies and a misdemeanor have been filed against a former Virginia elections official over events that surrounded the 2020 presidential race.
Fox News reported the details of what happened while Michele White was the registar for Prince William County in Virginia aren’t being released.
But the counts include corrupt conduct as an election official and willful neglect of duty as an election official.
It happened between Aug. 1, and Dec. 31, 2020.
The misdemeanor is a claim of a false statement.
The case was announced by the office of Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares.
White held the office from 2015 until she quit in April 2021.
Fox reported, “In 2020, the county set records for early and absentee ballots cast and coincided with changes in state laws that expanded access to early voting.”
Just the News said White quit last year without explanation.
And the county’s Office of Elections claimed White’s conduct didn’t “impact the outcome of any election contest.”
