Thanks in large part to the internet, it’s increasingly difficult for the government and its establishment media allies to hide corruption by the FBI, Justice Department and CIA such as the Russia hoax and the censorship of the Biden family influence-peddling business.
Consequently, trust in federal law enforcement and the intelligence community virtually has evaporated, tempting many Americans to reflect on the “good old days.”
But now a battle is brewing with the intelligence community over its part in a world-changing event nearly 60 years ago. More documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 were released Thursday in compliance with an act of Congress.
But about 3% of the collection is being withheld, and as CBS News reports, experts believe some of those documents “might cast the CIA or other agencies in a negative light.”
On Thursday evening, Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported his team spoke with a “person who was deeply familiar” with the withheld documents.
The source was asked: “Did the CIA have a hand in the murder of John F. Kennedy, an American President?”
The reply: “The answer is yes. I believe they were involved. It’s a whole different country from what we thought it was. It’s all fake.”
Congress passed the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act in 1992, mandating the release of all documents by 2017, unless they posed risks to national defense or intelligence. Former President Trump and President Biden issued extensions blocking the release of remaining documents. But in October, a nonprofit that curates an online collection of John F. Kennedy’s assassination records filed a lawsuit.
The National Archives and Records Administration on Thursday released 13,173 documents in compliance with an executive order by Biden that withheld thousands of other sensitive records.
Scores of books have proposed an endless variety of JFK assassination theories, including the late Mark Lane’s “Last Word: My Indictment of the CIA in the Murder of JFK.” Last month, author Mark Shaw released a book indicting the Mafia, “Fighting for Justice: The Improbable Journey to Exposing Cover-Ups about the JFK Assassination and the Deaths of Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Kilgallen.”
But there is a general consensus that the government’s Warren Commission report casting as lone actors Lee Harvey Oswald and the man who murdered him, Jack Ruby, was a whitewash. In fact, an investigation by the House Select Committee on Assassinations completed in 1978 concluded Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy involving at least two gunmen.
The chief counsel for that investigation, Robert Blakey, initially said the CIA had been forthcoming with congressional investigators. But he changed his mind when he discovered the CIA liaison to the committee, George Joannides, was himself involved with organizations tied to Oswald in the months before the assassination.
“Americans have trusted their government less with every passing year since the killing of John F. Kennedy,” Carlson said. “Maybe this is why.”
