The Popular Info website that monitors a wide range of details and statistics has revealed that Amazon PAC recently donated a total of $17,500 to nine members of the U.S. House.
They would be August Pfluger of Texas, Stephanie Bice of Oklahoma, Tom Cole of Oklahoma, Darrell Issa of California, Garret Graves of Louisiana, Sam Graves of Missouri, Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida, Mike Rogers of Alabama and Rob Wittman of Virginia.
Those contributions are significant because those nine were cut off earlier by Amazon, which complained at the time their votes against certifying Joe Biden’s 2020 election results were an “unacceptable attempt to undermine a legitimate democratic process.”
The report said Amazon’s earlier statement came out after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Now, even though “none of the nine members who received donations from Amazon last month has expressed any regret for their vote on January 6,” the company has resumed its donation program.
Amazon’s explanation?
“The Amazon Political Action Committee has long given to members of Congress who share our views on issues that are important to our customers and our business in general. When we announced shortly after the attack on the Capitol in January 2021 that we would suspend donations to members of Congress who voted against certifying the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, it was not intended to be permanent. It’s been more than 21 months since that suspension and, like a number of companies, we’ve resumed giving to some members.”
The report pointed out, “Notably, Amazon did not say whether it expressed any ‘concerns’ to the nine Republican objectors before resuming donations in September. Instead, Amazon emphasized the passage of time to justify its actions.”
According to the Gateway Pundit, it was FEC data that confirmed the recent donations.
