James Comey, the ex-chief of the FBI who played a large role in weaponizing the federal government against President Donald Trump, specifically during the Democrats’ pursuit of the false “Russiagate” conspiracy theory, has been indicted a second time.
The exact charges haven’t been announced, following the dismissal of an earlier indictment for lying to Congress, because of a technicality.
It was CNN that cited its sources to report the development.
CNN, which long has been critical of just about everything that Trump does, editorialized, “President Donald Trump has long pressed for his political adversaries to face charges, including the former FBI director whom he believed to be a key player in the alleged effort to ‘weaponize’ justice system against him.”

One report suggested that the current indictment is over Comey’s post of the “86 47” messaging.

The earlier indictment, from last September, accused him of lying to Congress, but a federal judge said the interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia hadn’t been properly appointed.
CNN also opined, “The effort appears to have been reinvigorated by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who has picked up the pace in bringing cases that the president has publicly jockeyed for since he was tapped for the role.”
Comey repeatedly has attacked Trump, including delivering a social media statement in which he claimed to have found seashells on the sand in the shape of digits, “86 47.”

“86” is a phrase that means to end someone, while Trump currently is the 47th president of the United States.
It was reported when the last case was dropped that constitutional expert and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley warned Comey wasn’t out of the woods solely because that case was dropped.
He also issued the same warning about Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James who worked to reach a half a billion dollar penalty against Trump, claiming fraud, and who then was faced with charges of fraud herself.
Comey originally was indicted on obstruction and lying to Congress charges. Turley told “America Reports” co-hosts John Robers and Sandra Smith that the dismissal was not on the merits of the charges, but instead a question about whether interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan of the Eastern District of Virginia was properly appointed.
Further, WorldNetDaily reported it was Cameron Currie, a South Carolina judge, who dismissed both cases that were being prosecuted by Halligan.
Outrage erupted when the earlier case was canceled.
