WATCH: FBI raids 22 childcare centers, including Quality ‘Learing’ Center, in crackdown on fraud in Ilhan Omar’s Somali-majority district

Nearly two dozen childcare centers in the Somali-majority district represented by Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., were raided by the FBI on Tuesday in what apparently is a massive investigation into allegations of billions of dollars in social services program fraud.

The targets included the infamous “Quality Learing Center” whose managers eventually fixed the spelling on their public-facing signage.

President Donald Trump announced a “war on fraud” several weeks ago and put Vice President JD Vance in command of a task force leading that campaign.

According to the New York Post, the FBI raided 22 centers as part of its wide-ranging review of reports of social services fraud.

Evidence already has been made public that children routinely were described as “autistic” because that qualified them for special help, and some of the schemes uncovered included promoters setting up a corporation and naming a childcare center and then submitting bills for millions of dollars even though no child was provided services ever.

The same district was the focal point of last winter’s Operation Metro Surge, which focused on illegal aliens, especially illegal alien criminals, in the area, and hundreds were arrested.

“Today the FBI with federal, state and local law enforcement is involved in court-authorized law enforcement activity as part of an ongoing fraud investigation,” a Justice Department official confirmed.

The Post reported the focus so far largely has been on pandemic-era programs and autism support groups “that fleeced taxpayers.”

In recent months the DOJ already has indicted seven alleged fraudsters who reportedly raked in $14 million by recruited Somali families to enroll their kids in fake autism services.

One guilty plea already has resulted.

But dozens more, about 65 people so far, are facing criminal charges for the separate Feeding Our Future scam, which the report said, “allegedly ripped off taxpayers to the tune of $250 million. Many have pleaded guilty in the sprawling case, which the DOJ began prosecuting in the Biden administration.”

The administration of President Donald Trump has estimated fraud there has cost taxpayers about $19 billion, and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz dropped out of a re-election campaign over the issues.

So far nearly five dozen people, mostly Somalians, have been convicted, or have pleaded guilty in the Feeding Our Future scam.
