Now legacy media citing Joe Biden's 'frequent public confusion'

Joe Biden, during the last presidential campaign, claimed he was running for the “Senate.”

He also described his campaign’s “voter registration physicians.”

His word salads, bumbles, stumbles and gaffes, of course, date back many years. And some news outlets, including WND, have reported on the unsettling statements even since before author Mike Towle’s “Biden Time: Crazy Uncle Joe in His Own Words” appeared.

That collects Bidens “most memorably moronic or misfired quotes over the last 40-plus years” at THAT time. Those included calling Barack Obama “Barack America,” slamming immigrants with “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven for a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent … I’m not joking,” and famously, “Stand up, Chuck, let ’em see ya,” addressing Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham, who is confined to a wheelchair.

He’s reached new heights since, forgetting where he is or what he’s doing multiple times. Words salads that are filled with “uh” and disconnected ideas are daily, more or less.

He’s lost his temper at the families of slain soldiers, too.

Now, however, it’s the legacy media, which long has protected and defended Biden’s verbal mazes, that is noticing.

The Wall Street Journal recently sounded the alarm, “We take no pleasure in pointing this out, since the U.S. needs a president who can handle the strains of the job. Mr. Biden was never Demosthenes, and all presidents stumble in speech. But Mr. Biden’s frequent public confusion about the major issues of the day is a reason for growing public concern.”

A commentary at RedState.com noted the significance.

“Going back to the 2020 presidential campaign, right-leaning media has been well ahead of the curve in asking serious questions about President Joe Biden’s mental health. As his presidential term has aged, things have only gotten worse, with numerous scenes of confusion and anger taking place,” the report said. “Just days ago, the president appeared to forget where he was, having to be saved by his wife (see Jill Biden Steps in to Save a Confused, Meandering Joe Biden). Other examples include Biden seemingly unable to control his anger at times, including with the families of slain soldiers. Past that, odd word salads and bumbling speeches have become what feels like a near-daily occurrence.”

It continued, “Welcome to the party, guys. RedState has been chronicling the obvious mental decline of Joe Biden well before he assumed office, and at times dealing with great pushback from supposed ‘fact-checkers’ looking to explain everything away. To see a major newspaper finally get on board is nice, but it’s also annoying, in that it should have happened long ago.

“It’s been clear for a long time that Biden is not well. The confusion that the Journal points out happens in essentially every public appearance. The president has no grasp of the issues when he’s not on the teleprompter, and even then, it’s difficult for him to make any distinctive point without tripping over himself. Call it dementia, senility, or something else, but we have a president who is not up for the job he holds.”

The Journal even noted, “White House handlers shield President Biden from the press as much as possible, and Thursday’s town hall on CNN shows why. Even with a friendly audience and softball questions, Mr. Biden’s performance revealed why so many Americans are losing confidence in his presidency. One big problem is that Mr. Biden often doesn’t seem to know what he’s talking about.”

In fact, WND just reported even Biden’s own White House has taken to correcting him.

The move came in a series of statements after Biden went on a binge during a town hall meeting and conjured up comments that, well, weren’t right.

“So, THIS was embarrassing: Biden’s CNN Town Hall was SUCH a train wreck his own staff had to fact-check HIM in real time,” explained Twitchy. “White House staff was busy during last night’s town hall fact checking their boss, Biden, in real time…”

Corrections were issued to Biden statements on the supply chain crisis, to raising taxes, and even Taiwan.

The Daily Mail explained, “The walk-back comes as the White House seeks to drum up Biden’s sinking poll numbers – Biden lost a whopping 11. 3 percentage points from his first quarter approval of 56 percent to an average of 44.7 percent at the end of the three months spanning late July through October, according to a new Gallup poll.”

There also has been confirmation from the White House that staffers discourage Biden from taking questions.
