‘So-called indictment’: Hakeem Jeffries threatens Republicans for enforcing the law

Hakeem Jeffries

Democrat Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, has delivered a threat to Republicans in the Trump administration who now are trying to enforce federal laws.

He’ll deliver retribution “no matter what it takes.”

He comments were prompted by this week’s indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the far-left LGBT agenda and abortion pusher that is a favorite among Democrats for its multitude of attacks on conservatives, Christians and more.

It is accused of talking about leftist ideals while at the same time actually giving millions of dollars to extremist organizations and individuals, like those to launched the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 that resulted in a riot and one participant’s death.

It is a report posted at PJMedia that explains Jeffries has given the GOP a preview of his party’s playbook for 2026, and he’s making the assumption that Democrats will win enough congressional seats to be the majority.

“When Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel announced an 11-count federal indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center for wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, you might have expected the House Democratic leader to at least acknowledge the seriousness of the charges. These are, after all, real crimes. Instead, Jeffries went straight to social media and whined like a baby,” the report said.

Jeffries announced, “The so-called indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center announced by Todd Blanche and Kash Patel is baseless and illegitimate. These partisan hacks who continue to weaponize the criminal justice system against perceived opponents will never intimidate. And all of them will be held accountable for their corrupt behavior no matter what it takes.”

Explained PJMedia, “That last line deserves a second read: ‘All of them will be held accountable… no matter what it takes.’ Not a word about whether the charges might actually be true. Just a cold, barely veiled promise of retribution the moment Democrats get enough power to act on it.”

The report pointed out that Jeffries ignored the allegations “the SPLC raised money by telling donors it was fighting extremist groups — the KKK, the Aryan Nation, the National Alliance — while quietly funneling portions of those donations back to paid ‘informants’ embedded inside those very organizations.”

The report also noted it was ordinary citizens on the grand jury, “not Trump appointees,” to deliver the charges.

Further, social media commenters noted that Jeffries chose not to say anything about the massive weaponization of the federal government under Joe Biden, which used the FACE Act to “throw pro-life Christians in prison.”

The biggest failing is that “Jeffries never once addressed the actual allegations. No outrage that money raised to fight racism may have been padding the pockets of someone who helped organize a white supremacist march. No acknowledgment that donors who wrote checks to ‘fight hate’ might deserve answers about where their money actually went,” the report noted.

It continued, “Jeffries wasn’t just defending the SPLC — he’s signaling exactly what Democrats will do if they win back the House.”

His words are “a promise of retribution… for the crime of holding actual criminals accountable,” the report said.
