‘Awesome’: Church goes high-tech for Christmas, uses 1,000 drones to tell Nativity story

One church in Texas has gone big for the Christmas season 2025, using 1,000 drones to tell the Nativity story.

A report at Protestia explains it is the 2025 Bright Lights community outreach in Manvel, Texas.

Social media respondents called int’Beautiful” and “Awesome,” with, of course, a few naysayers accusing the church of “Idolatry.”

The events were at the Church on Masters Road, a nondenominational congregation that concluded its three days of “Bright Lights” with the outreach, open to the public.

It also sponsored a snow hill, live music, bonfires, free food and hot chocolate, a petting zoo and more.

The report said, “The highlight of each evening was a 15-minute drone show involving 1,000 drones that reenacted the story of Jesus from birth to death, complete with a voiceover narration explaining the events and sharing the Gospel message.”
