A man is in custody after rushing U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., on Tuesday and spraying her with a substance during a town-hall meeting in Minneapolis.
The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, jumped out of his seat and ran toward the Somali-born Democrat seconds after she stated: “DHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or face impeachment.”
Kazmierczak shouted at the congresswoman and sprayed her with an unknown substance from a syringe before he was tackled. Omar was not harmed.

“Oh my God! He sprayed something on her!” yelled an attendee at the meeting.
Despite the disturbance, the congresswoman insisted she continue her event.
“We will continue! This f***ing a**hole is not going to get away with it!” Omar voiced.
“Here’s the reality that people like this ugly man don’t understand: We are Minnesota strong, and we will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us.”
The suspect has since been charged third-degree assault at the Hennepin County Jail.

Some online suggested the incident was staged.
