On the eve of Electoral College voting, President Trump declared the 2020 election is “under protest,” charging that certifying the votes in swing states amounts to a crime because of “massive” vote fraud.
“Swing States that have found massive VOTER FRAUD, which is all of them, CANNOT LEGALLY CERTIFY these votes as complete & correct without committing a severely punishable crime,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “THIS ELECTION IS UNDER PROTEST!”
According to the certified popular vote count, Joe Biden won 306 votes to Trump’s 232. Electoral College members are meeting in state capitals Monday to officially cast their votes.
On Friday, the Trump team suffered a major setback when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take a case filed by Texas charging Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia “exploited” the coronavirus pandemic to “justify unlawfully enacting last-minute changes and ignoring both federal and state election laws, thus skewing the results of the 2020 General Election.”
“Everybody knows that dead people, below age people, illegal immigrants, fake signatures, prisoners, and many others voted illegally, the president tweeted Sunday. “Also, machine ‘glitches’ (another word for FRAUD), ballot harvesting, non-resident voters, fake ballots, ‘stuffing the ballot box’, votes for pay, roughed up Republican Poll Watchers, and sometimes even more votes than people voting, took place in Detroit, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and elsewhere.”
Trump said that in all of the swing state cases, “there are far more votes than are necessary to win the State, and the Election itself.”
“Therefore, VOTES CANNOT BE CERTIFIED,” he said.
On Sunday, attorney Sidney Powell, who is not part of the Trump campaign legal team, raised the option of Trump invoking his 2018 executive order calling on the director of national intelligence to assess evidence of foreign interference in an election.
Powell, in an interview with the Epoch Times, said that if John Ratcliffe, the DNI, were to conduct such an assessment, it would “blow the mind of every citizen in the country who’s willing to look at the truth and the facts.”
“Because there’s never – we’ve never witnessed anything like this in the history of this country,” she said. “And it’s got to be stopped right now or there will never be a free and fair election.”
Powell said she thought the Supreme Court would accept the Texas case, which was rejected 7-2, not on the merits but on the premise that Texas didn’t have standing.
But she said the Texas ruling has no impact on four cases she has filed, because her plaintiffs have constitutional standing as Electoral College electors.
On Friday, she filed emergency requests to the Supreme Court to order officials in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona to de-certify their 2020 election results.
Another case before the Supreme Court, she noted, was filed by attorney Lin Wood. And there’s another case that orginated in Pennyslvania.
“There might be a standing issue in one of those, but between the multiple cases that are there right now someone has to have standing,” she said. “So one or more of those cases is going to have to be addressed on their merits, or we don’t have a Supreme Court.”
She said that among the common claims in the four cases are “voter dilution and denial of equal protection under the Constitution” through “everything from injecting massive quantities of votes into the system … to running counterfeit ballots through multiple times in multiple batches to create the appearance of votes that weren’t really there.”
She also claims votes were “shaved.”
“The machine can weight the ballots. So they can give Biden votes a weight of 1.25 count, and Trump votes are reduced to a 0.75 count,” she said. “So they flip 25% of the votes for Biden automatically, every vote count.”
“Instead of a vote counting as one, which is all a vote should ever count as—one man, one vote. That’s our standard, long held rule; the only way it can work in a democratic republic,” she said.
Powell said it’s not the first time it’s happened, claiming she has a “massive quantity of data from California in 2016” that shows it was done to help secure Hillary Clinton’s victory over Bernie Sanders.
“I have a witness who told me that they informed Bernie Sanders of all of it, and instead of outing it, he sold out,” she said.
