A new poll shows that most Americans not only believe that legacy and social-media corporations in America suppressed reporting that could have been damaging to Joe Biden just before the 2020 presidential election – but that it also changed the results of the race.
It was Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg who admitted just days ago that the FBI approached his company before the election to alert them to the possibility of “disinformation” being unleashed by Russia.
So he deliberately suppressed that information about presidential son Hunter Biden’s international business schemes and the possible involvement of Joe Biden.
Zuckerberg admitted he made sure fewer people saw that news – even though it wasn’t Russian disinformation, it was based in fact.
Now the FBI has admitted that it “routinely” notifies companies, including social media platforms, when it has information it wants them to have.
Just the News said, “The FBI’s defense comes after Zuckerberg appeared Thursday on the ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast. Host Joe Rogan asked Zuckerberg about how Facebook handled the story first broken by The New York Post involving the questionable contents on the laptop of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.”
Zuckerberg admitted the FBI said his company should be on “alert” about Russian propaganda.
Meta, Facebook’s parent company, said on social media that nothing in the comments was new.
The New York Post said the FBI followed Zuckerberg’s admission with a statement saying, “The FBI routinely notifies US private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats.”
The bureau said, “The FBI has provided companies with foreign threat indicators to help them protect their platforms and customers from abuse by foreign malign influence actors.”
It said it does not “direct” companies to act, however.
Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, said, “The FBI has absolutely no constitutional authority to decide what political information Americans should or shouldn’t share. Zuckerberg should be embarrassed to admit he’s a willing and compliant tool of the deep state.”
When Zuckerberg admitted to the FBI’s advisory to his company, GOP House leader Kevin McCarthy charged that the FBI actually “colluded” with Facebook to help Biden win the election.
“The FBI colluded with Big Tech to silence news stories weeks before the 2020 election in an attempt to control your access to information,” McCarthy said. “Democrats in Congress have been intentionally ignoring the facts. When Republicans are back in charge, we will hold all of them accountable.”
Widespread outrage erupted instantly when Zuckerberg, in an interview, confessed that his company had, in fact, censored accurate reporting about Hunter Biden’s laptop, which contained massive amounts of information about the family’s scandals, including overseas business operations that sometimes involved America’s enemies and appeared to have provided profits to Joe Biden.
The Daily Mail warned that Republican politicians and voters are accusing the FBI and Facebook of censorship, influencing an election result, and more.
This comes only a day after a poll revealed nearly half of Americans already distrust the FBI, after its involvement in multiple orchestrated attacks on President Donald Trump dating back to 2016, including the debunked Russia collusion claims and the recent raid on his home in Florida.
Another poll just this week revealed that nearly 80% of Americans believe that skewed coverage of the Hunter Biden scandals actually changed the election results.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said, “So the FBI preemptively warned Facebook off Hunter Biden laptop reporting. This same agency effectively laundered Russian disinfo in the 2016 election in the form of Steele dossier. And later lied to a court to get wiretaps.”
Republican members of the Senate already have demanded that FBI officials who “briefed” Congress on “disinformation” just before the 2020 election explain why they apparently used that opportunity to try to tie the senator’s legitimate investigation into Hunter Biden to the idea of “disinformation” by sharing and leaking details.
